COPERARI is the creative collaboration between Nichola Clark, founder and Creative Director, and her sister Jodi Clark, the artist behind the brand’s signature textile designs. United by a shared passion for art, craftsmanship, and sustainability, they created a brand that celebrates traditional techniques, timeless design, and ethical practices.

Our Story: A Shared Vision

COPERARI was born from a long-held dream and a shared creative ambition. The sisters had always talked about working together, and with both having experience in product development, textiles felt like the natural medium to bring their vision to life. Nichola’s travels, particularly her time in Oaxaca, where she immersed herself in the region’s rich traditions of handwoven textiles and ceramics, laid the foundation for the brand. Inspired by these techniques, she saw the potential to merge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Jodi’s abstract paintings, full of bold color and texture, became the perfect complement, forming the heart of COPERARI’s textile collection. Together, the sisters have created a brand that blends creativity, craftsmanship, and sustainability, while honoring ethical practices.

Nichola Clark, the founder of COPERARI, has shaped the company’s vision with a commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable products that honor craftsmanship while embracing modern design. With experiences spanning New York, Oaxaca, and beyond, Nichola was deeply inspired by the rich traditions she encountered, particularly in Oaxaca, Mexico, where the region’s handwoven textiles and ceramics sparked her creative journey. Her desire to preserve these techniques led her to form lasting partnerships with artisans, ensuring every piece reflects exceptional quality and respect for the cultures from which they come.

Jodi Clark is the artist whose abstract paintings inspire COPERARI’s textile designs. Based in New Zealand, Jodi’s vibrant artwork forms the foundation for the brand’s signature patterns, infusing each piece with color, texture, and personality. Jodi’s artistic vision brings depth and energy to the collection, with her paintings translating seamlessly into fabric prints that add a contemporary edge to COPERARI’s designs. Though Nichola and Jodi are based in different parts of the world, Nichola between New York and Oaxaca, and Jodi in New Zealand, they collaborate closely to bring their shared vision to life.
